Enia & Why she Founded FEC

Faith & Enterprise Consulting (FEC), founded by Enia McLaughlin in the Fall of '24, embodies her deep faith and commitment to fostering growth within the Ross community. Recognizing a significant need for support and guidance, Enia established FEC to serve others and provide services for organizations, churches and businesses. Hear her inpsiring journey to understand how FEC came to be be.

How Faith & Enterprise Began

My motivation for starting FEC stems from my long-time interest in consulting at Ross and the unique opportunities and experiences that Ross business clubs offer. However, the process of joining a club as a freshman was both overwhelming and highly competitive. At that time, I lacked the knowledge and drive to navigate the application process, as I was managing personal challenges that hindered my ability to engage fully.

By sophomore year, I felt it was too late to join a club due to a lack of interest in sophomore applicants. Additionally, I noticed that many existing clubs did not align with my core values, particularly my faith in Jesus, which has always been central to my life. While these clubs provided excellent opportunities for professional development, their social dynamics often felt misaligned with my spiritual practices and long-term goals. This created a decision: I could either prioritize community and connection at the expense of my values the or focus solely on the work and be separate from them, which would defeat the purpose of joining a club in the first place.

Clubs, in my view, should foster social connection, networking, and hands-on skill development within a supportive community. Recognizing this, I decided to create my own initiative—one that combined my faith with my interest in consulting projects. Through prayer and fasting, I felt guided to pursue this idea, which aligned with my personal values and passions.

FEC is not just a consulting-focused initiative, it is a space for Christians seeking community while exploring business opportunities without compromising their morals or standards. While I may not pursue consulting as a career, I value diverse experiences and see this as a meaningful way to blend faith, friendship, and professional growth. My goal is to create an environment where members can collaborate on projects, build strong connections, and grow both professionally and spiritually.
